Mission

Commitment to the community;
commitment to health!

The Peninsula Smokefree Partnership is a tobacco prevention and control grant funded by the state of Alaska through the Tobacco Prevention and Control program within the Department of Health & Social Services, under Bridges' Community Resource Network.

Alaska Tobacco Control Alliance (ATCA)

We are committed to create, implement and maintain policies that support reducing premature death, disease, disability and the economic burden related to tobacco use and/or exposure to secondhand smoke by preventing the initiation of tobacco use among youngsters, promoting quitting, and eliminating exposure to secondhand smoke.

*Alaskans support using tobacco settlement funds for programs to prevent and treat tobacco use. In 1999, the legislature heard the voices of Alaskans and voted to allocate 20% of the tobacco settlement funds received by Alaska for tobacco prevention and control. Currently, this provides $5.5 million annually to fund programs and services statewide.
